GeoTag Explained

Discover GeoTag

Turn everyday places into reasons to get moving.

GeoTag is an interactive activity platform being developed by Movela Health. It brings together a local activity game, opportunities to discover nearby clubs and community activities, and reporting that helps partner organisations understand participation.

For participants, it’s a reason to explore, collect points and get involved.

For councils, Active Partnerships and community organisations, it’s a way to connect local places and activities through one shared experience.

Help shape GeoTag through our 2027 Founders Programme.

Explore. Collect.Keep moving.

A walk to the park. A different route home. A challenge with friends.

GeoTag is being designed to make everyday movement more rewarding, with a free-to-play experience for people in participating areas.

Interactive experiences: discover augmented reality content at selected tags.

Local activity. Useful insight.

Encouraging participation is one part of the challenge. Understanding what brings people back is another.

GeoTag is being designed to give delivery partners insight into how people engage with an activation, helping them understand which places, challenges and experiences attract participation.

Planned reporting includes:

• Active users and repeat participation.

• Tag interactions and engagement over time.

• Popular locations and underused tags.

• Patterns in when and where people take part.

• Baseline and follow-up survey responses.

• Downloadable reports to support evaluation.

These insights are intended to help partners refine local delivery and build a clearer picture of engagement. Health outcomes will need to be evaluated through appropriately designed pilots.

One shared experience.More ways to get involved.

Communities already have places to explore, activities to try and organisations helping people get moving. GeoTag is being designed to bring those opportunities into a connected local experience.

Tags and challenges can give people a reason to visit a place, while information linked to selected tags can help them discover what else is available there.

Someone collecting points in a park could discover a nearby tennis club, learn about a beginner session and find out how to take part. A local challenge could introduce people to a walking route, community venue or activity they hadn’t considered before.

The aim is to connect discovery with a clear next step—helping local organisations become part of the experience and making it easier for people to find opportunities around them.

Fresh reasons to keep exploring.

GeoTag is being designed to give people reasons to return throughout an activation, with new challenges, shared goals and experiences that change over time.

Points and progress
Build a sense of achievement through points, milestones and personal progress.

Private group competition
Bring schools, workplaces and community groups together through private leaderboards.

Local and seasonal challenges
Create opportunities to explore different places and take part around local events or seasonal activities.

Augmented reality experiences
Bring selected tags to life with digital content, from Christmas and Halloween themes to interactive experiences connected to local places.

GeoTag,Built around your community.

GeoTag is being developed for organisations looking to encourage everyday movement, connect people with local opportunities and better understand participation.

A council could encourage exploration of its parks and community spaces. An Active Partnership could connect GeoTag with an existing activity programme. A school, employer or community organisation could bring people together through a shared challenge.

Each activation would be planned around the participating area, the people it aims to reach and the opportunities already available locally.

The planned model is free to play for participants, with activations funded by partner organisations.

A conversation is the first step

You don’t need a finished brief to get in touch.

Tell us about your organisation, the people you want to reach and what you’d like to achieve. We can explore whether GeoTag could be a good fit and discuss what involvement in the 2027 Founders Programme might look like.
